Open House
The YMCA Dance Studio will be relocating to space formerly occupied by the Pickaway County Library at 165 East Main Street.  We will also be changing the name to the YMCA Dance Academy!  Our instructors are excited about the new space and continuing the excellent instruction you have come to expect.  Join us for our Open House coming in August.

Dance Programs
The Pickaway County YMCA will offer the Dance Classes listed below during the Fall sessions.  All payments are due by the first of each month.

Pre Dance I A/B - Age 4
Movement and Dance are incorporated with props and story telling for this introduction to ballet.

Pre Dance II A/B - Age 5
Building on skills learned in Pre Dance I, dancers are introduced to tap and more advanced motor skills.

Pre Dance II - Age 6
A combination of tap and ballet are used for storytelling, rhythm, posture exercise, and more.

Level 1 - Age 7
Dancers are introduced to ballet and tap dance styles following a syllabus. 

Level 2 - Age 8
A more advanced combination of ballet and tap.  Instructor approval is required to participate.

Level 3 - Age 9
Tap, ballet, and jazz are taught.  The Cecchetti syllabus of ballet is begun.

Level 4
For dancers who are interested in a more intermediate level of dance instruction in all forms of dance.  Instructor approval is required to participate.

Level 5
Advanced training in all forms of dance and pointe work in ballet is introduced.  Instructor approval and two ballet classes are required to participate.

Level 6
Intermediate level classes are offered for those interested in learning the basics of dance.

Level 7
The YMCA's most advanced level where students are professionally trained in all forms of dance.

Tumbling for Dancers - Ages 5-6 A, 7 & up B
Learn basic tumbling skills related to dance at the YMCA's Dance Studio.

Cost/Schedule of Dance Classes

Activities in Art - Ages 6-12 (Code P650)
This youth art class introduces the child to a variety of art mediums, including painting, drawing, paper mache, chalk, and clay.

Adult Art Class (Code P650A)
Learn basic techniques while experiencing the joy of discovering water color.
